(5) Things we love…#159

Posted in Things We Love

Christmas gifts purchased so far: 0. But there is a tree, albeit still tied to the top of the car. How do I manage, every single year, me, the planner in chief, to reach this sorry state of affairs? Maybe I am at the age where I would just want to wish the holidays away…or maybe it’s the ridiculously warm temperatures that don’t exactly scream “It’s Christmas”. May you have a productive weekend.

One. Best video of the week. Whether you like gorillas or not (via sofa girl).

Two. A friend pointed out that my style of clothing tends towards layering. I wasn’t quite aware but she might be right. Perhaps that is why I found the clothing by Maureen Doherty of Egg (https://www2.eggtrading.com) (a London boutique) so appealing. Not that I can afford them but they lend some inspiration.

Three. Harrowing and compelling (and my last mention of Harvey Weinstein).https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/12/13/opinion/contributors/salma-hayek-harvey-weinstein.html?_r=0

Four.A forest of furniture??

Five. I have a fondness for Elvis Costello. Especially the moody Costello. The video is not the most compelling but I love the song.

  1. Loved, loved the gorilla video. That tenderness, the joy in their faces for the friendly exchange. Thanks for sharing.

As for Salma Hayek, it saddens me to know her yet another of Harvey’s victims. How can one man terrorise so many women and not get punished for so long?…

    • The gorilla video made my week! And made me want to travel to see gorillas now. On my list…

  2. The furniture forest is such a bizarre concept. I’m not quite sure if it’s brilliant or crazy (probably both)

    • Incredibly bizarre. Not quite sure of its value but I was drawn to it.

Elvis Costello. I remember wondering who he was when he got a mention at the end of the Commitments movie. So thanks for the music. Pretty good.

    • I grew up on him. Possibly one of the reasons I went into the music biz.
