(5) Things we love…#108

Posted in Things We Love

celeste-barberLabor Day is gone but this, to me, feels like the last weekend of Summer. I will be spending it at the beach, doggies in tow. How about you?

difficult childOne. A close friend of mine, a wonderful mother, since her son was born has never bored me (or anybody else for that matter) with stories of little Freddie’s accomplishments or feeding habits. And I am so very grateful, thinking of how often I had to nod and feign interest in other people’s children.

15+ Of The Funniest Mom Tweets Ever

These tweets, though, from mothers all over, are hilarious and I could spend hours scrolling through.

thunder dungeonTwo. For when you are tired of all those celebrities’ posed photos. Aussie comedienne Celeste Barber keeps it real.

reshma fashion weekThree. Maybe it’s just a publicity stunt but seeing a woman disfigured by acid walking the New York Fashion week runways as a model might go a long way to redefine what it means to be beautiful. Reshma Quereshi has made it her mission to advocate for women who have been disfigured like her, to keep their plight at the forefront of the public opinion, all with tremendous grace and humor.

typewriterFour. Possibly the only good reason for not living in the present.

lunch boxesFive. For our LA readers: while wandering around Sawtelle Boulevard, a Japanese-centric area, I happened upon Tokyo Japanese Outlet where I bought these cute lunch boxes to keep small things tidy. $2.00 each. And I found so many original little gifts (bunny ear deodorants, adorable night lights), I will be back before Christmas.

  2. I am throwing an all white dress apéro party for 30 people in Sunday night. Pity it is only 19 and cloudy.

Nice and hot here for a change. Although an apero party in Dordogne sounds fabulous. Serving spritzers or Campari by any chance?
