Santa is on the way

Posted in Uncategorized

Santa BotticelliDo you remember the day you found out Santa did not exist? Who ruined it for you? Did you catch your parents sneaking presents under the tree? Or was it a snarky sibling? Or maybe your best friend?

I was seven and a boy in school burst my bubble. I don’t remember being terribly distressed but a bit of magic was forever gone and my practical self stopped believing in anything else from then on: the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny were swiped away with one brush stroke.

But my 50-year-old self is prepared to believe it was all a big misunderstanding and that it’s time to bring the magic back.  I cleaned my chimney and set some milk and cookies on a tray because Santa does exist after all. And here are the images to prove it.

Santa’s real name, by the way, is Ed Wheeler, and he has been paying visits to some pretty awesome masterpieces all over the world, to prove his existence to all of us unbelievers.

Caravaggio, Vermeer, Botticelli and company are amused. So are we.

From your favorite “sofa”, a very Merry Christmas. May you spend it with the ones you love.

And if Christmas is not your thing, Happy Happy Holidays! May you also be with the ones you love.
