A blistering heatwave has hit stretches of India, with temperatures reaching 45C/112 F.

Until the rains come – in the form of seasonal monsoons, millions of regular folks are taking to the streets looking for ways cool down.

As winter hits Cape Town in the form of our own monsoon – i.e. non-stop icy rain for three months: I thought I would take a moment to remember the summer. And these photos say it all.
